At AC Dance, we are committed to encouraging the maximum potential of all our students through technical training, grit, grace, and integrity. To maintain a professional and supportive environment, all dancers are expected to adhere to the following Code of Conduct:

Studio Etiquette & Arrival

  - Punctuality: Dancers must arrive on time. Anyone arriving 10 minutes late or more will be required to sit and observe the class—no exceptions.
  - Entry: If you are late, you must wait inside the door until the instructor acknowledges you before joining the floor.
  - Focus: The room must be silent as soon as the instructor enters. Dancers should stand at their assigned spots at the barre, which will change monthly to promote awareness.
  - Respect: Dancers must apply corrections immediately when given. Class concludes with a respectful clap and bow to the instructor.

Dress Code Requirements
Proper attire is required to participate; students not in dress code will be asked to observe.

  - Ballet: Level color leotard, alignment belt, pink or flesh-colored tights, ballet slippers, and pointe shoes (when placed). Hair must be in a neat bun.
  - Horton/Jazz: Dress code color leotard, black tights (convertible), and bare feet.
  - Male-identifying Students: White or black T-shirts, white or black tights (with dance belt), or shorts with bare feet.
  - General: No jewelry except for small stud earrings. No chewing gum. Dancers on their periods may wear black shorts over their leotards.

Personal Conduct & Safety

  - Zero-Tolerance Bullying Policy: AC Dance maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding bullying. Any student found bullying another will be dismissed from the studio.
  - Belongings: All personal items must be stored in cubbies and kept off window ledges. No students are permitted to sit on window ledges.
  - Food & Drink: No food or drink is allowed in the studio except for water. All water bottles should be brought into the classroom.
  - Facility Care: Dancers are responsible for setting up extra equipment and must pick up all leftover trash.

Attendance

  - Absences: Please email scheduled away dates to ac@acdancenj.com. Students are responsible for making up any missed classes.
  - Restroom: Students should use the restroom before class; leaving during class is for emergencies only.
